In elemental analysis combustion is used to analyze for C, H and N content by weight. To analyze for halogen content a variation of the following experiemnt can be used. Exactly 15.05 mg of an unknown akyl halide (Containing only C,H and I) was dissolved in ethanol and carefully tirtrated with 5.0mM solution of AgNO3 in ethanol. After consuming 14.2 mL of AgNO3 solution, the silver halide precipiate was filtered and amounted to 16.66mg. Based on this alone, deduce a likely formula for the unknown alkyl halide and suggest a structure for it
