In Bings corporations, Last night they worked on a report and saved it to a third-party cloud service not supported by the Bings IT department! After saving the file, they made a quick but significant change to the financials and saved it again, less than 2 seconds later. But when they went to retrieve the file today, the file they opened did not have the last changes made. Since this was not performed on a work computer, you really don't owe them an explanation, but it is important that the CEO understands why the changes are not in the file they retrieved this morning. 

Questions:

Using concepts from consistency and replication, specifically as they relate to synchronization, 

1. Explain why the file they retrieved did not have the latest changes. 

2. Explain an understanding of how data, replication, clock synchronization, and the underlying algorithms work. However, you don't want your correspondence to be so technical that the CEO won't understand your explanation! But you also don't want to sound flippant, so please be polite in your explanation.
