Assignment:

1. Each student will search for a video about global violence, one that explains an area of violence that is international in nature. For you that means to choose an area from a country other than your own. The videos that depict global violence are often difficult to watch, so choose wisely; it need not be extravagantly violent in nature to get your point across.

2. Once you find your video, provide a 250 to 500 word summary of the violence portrayed and some facts about its frequency, country/locale, and other information that will help us understand the issues that surround it.

Get creative and look hard. The same video cannot be posted twice.

The "Behind the veil: Violence against women in Pakistan" video is an example of a video that just gives the facts. I would then research a little more about the topic before posting the video and summary in the discussion.

When you are finished with your video search and summary, make a New Post to this discussion with both your video link and your summary. We will be commenting on each others' videos next week to look at the vast topics of global violence we've found.
