The Joint Commission is a not for profit organization that was created in 1951 to help accredit more than 22,000 health organizations and programs across the United states and around the globe. Their goal is to 'ensure quality healthcare for patients, prevent harm, and improve patient advocacy'. They send an employee into certain hospitals and facilities to survey random patients on the quality of care and if the property is up to standards. The pros of the organization is that it shows patients the best of the best and know they will be in the best of hands when they go there. It also makes that facility very competitive and makes people want to go there, which can also provide more money. Some cons would be the price of the accreditation. The accreditation prices can go from 2,000 to 40,000 depending on the size. There is also a long process for the application and to get qualified. Another con is having to keep up with the standards because I am sure there is no room for mess ups and mistakes. Lastly the stress it gives to the employees to be on there upmost p's and q's all the time can be challenging. 

'The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), is a private, nonprofit organization created in 1990 that is dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations'.  NCQA updates quality standards confirmed by the health insurance industry to increase levels of ongoing quality and improvement. This helps companies have the accreditation that they keep their policies and provide the upmost help and safety for there patients. The pros and cons are pretty much the same, where a pro would be to have the accreditation that you are up to standards and a con would be to keep up with accreditation and cause stress to the staff and doctors.
