A gas mixture containing methane and n-butane enters an absorber tower at 20°C and a flowrate of 125 m 3 /h. The partial pressures at these conditions are 105 kPa for methane and 580 kPa for n-butane. In the absorber, 80.0% of the butane is removed and the remaining gas leaves the tower at 40°C and a total pressure of 550 kPa. a. What is the volumetric flowrate of the exit gas? b. How many moles per hour of butane are removed from the gas mixture in this process?
