Question: Explain a fraud that has impacted the student either directly or indirectly, how it occurred, was discovered and the results. To gain an appreciation how fraud has affected each of the fellow students and how fraud impacts everyone.
Frauds seem to be everywhere; it is hard to find anyone who has not either been a victim of fraud or at least been exposed to one which has made them change how they conduct themselves. For this discussion you are asked to discuss either a fraud that you or someone that you know has been exposed to. How it impacted you or the person you know, what changes you have made to try to prevent it from happening again, what you would like to see change to prevent it. Even if you have not been a victim you probably have received, for example, a fake/fraudulent phone call from a tax authority asking you to pay an outstanding tax claim that you did not owe or someone asking to fix your computer when you do not have any issues with your computer.
