Imagine you have an experimental system consisting of a hot brick and cool pail of water. You combine these by tossing the brick into the water. Assume that the resulting process does not change the volume of either the brick or the water. Also you can assume that no heat is exchanged between the walls of the pail and the rest of the universe. The pail is perfectly adiabatic.

a. Define the system and the surroundings to best solve for the change in the entropy of the brick and the water together upon reaching the equilibrium temperature.

b. What will happen, in terms of the temperature of the water and brick?
