PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. Analyse the Performance of Scheffler concentrator.

2. Improve the performance of collector.

KEY CHALLENGES OF THE PROJECT

1. Study of working of Scheffler concentrator.

2. Identfy the parameters that affect the thermal performance of concentrator.

3. Select the appropriate methodto improve the thermal performance of the concentrator using literature survey.

4. Performance testing of the concentrator with applied modifications.

This project aims to increase overall efficiency of the Scheffler concentrator by reducing thermal and optical

Losses Amirror polished secondary reflector of stainless steel material covered with toughened glass will be suitably designed fabricated and installed the Performance testing will be carried but on the Scheffler of with and without the modifications. ThePerformance of Scheffler will be analysed for improvement. It is proposed to model this arrangement using AutoCAD. This retrofication is expected to improve the overallPerformance of Scheffler concentrator.

Thermal Performance of Scheffler concentrator will be improved with the proposed modifications. This will increase the heat gain from the concentrator.
