Psychologists were interested in seeing whether kids were better at finding hidden objects with their parents present or without their parents present. Their hypothesis was: H0: the parents' presence does not affect how many objects their kid can find. Ha: kids find all objects with their parents present. They carried out the experiment and calculated a one-tailed p-value of p=0.05. Answer questions 3-4.

Were the researchers correct in running a one-tailed test?

Yes, because they are testing whether kids are very good at finding hidden objects or very bad at finding hidden objects with parents present.

Yes, because they are interested in determining if parents make their kids better at finding hidden objects.

No, they should've done a two-tailed test because they are testing whether kids are very good at finding hidden objects or very bad at finding hidden objects with parents present.
