This semester has been extremely challenging; however, I have experienced significant personal growth in both my individual and course objectives. One of my primary objectives was to enhance my critical thinking skills and clinical decision-making abilities in caring for pediatric and childbearing clients. Initially, I struggled with synthesizing complex information and applying it effectively in the clinical setting. However, through dedicated effort and reflection, I have made substantial progress in this area. One instance stands out where I had to care for a pediatric client with a complex medical history and multiple co-morbidities. Initially, I found it challenging to prioritize the client's needs and develop an appropriate care plan. However, by utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines and seeking guidance from experienced colleagues, I was able to develop a comprehensive care plan tailored to the client's specific needs. I have also focused on improving my communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with pediatric and childbearing clients and their families. This semester, I actively sought opportunities to engage with clients and families, actively listen to their concerns, and provide empathetic support. Through these interactions, I have learned the importance of building trust and rapport with clients and families, which is essential for delivering.
