Your friend who is a forensic nurse (or EMT or school nurse) is telling you about the challenges she faces when working with patients who have experienced sexual trauma or household trauma. She says that sometimes she will relive her own trauma and it's getting to the point where she is losing empathy for her patients and almost doesn't want to continue in her job.
