The goal of this exercise is to practice systematic observation. Choose a population that would be easy for you to observe unobtrusively. Examples include children at play, students in class, persons in a restaurant, etc. Develop a group of behaviors that interest you. Develop a chart and a method by which to record your observations in a systematic way. Note the difficulties in observation that you experience while conducting this exercise.
