April was tired as a barista to coffee shop because the manager was impressed with her work experience and positive positive references upon arrival work April asked the manager where she should put her medication which needed to be refrigerated. The manager asked her what the medication was and what she needed. April said she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The manager mentioned her to the fridge in the employee break room at the end of the day. The manager told that the job was not a good fit for her because it could be very fast-paced and required and actual customers who could be rude and impatient who expressed concern that the stress of the job wouldn't make her medical conditions worse Did the manager discriminate illegally the manager discriminated against April by asking her about her medication but once he learned she had bipolar he had a valid reason to fire her know the manager was concerned for the safety of customers and worker. Yes, the manager discriminated against her medication by firing her because her condition did not interfere with performing the essential function of the job. It may have been unfair for the manager to change his mind about April. The manager did so out of concerned for April's well-being and his decision was not illegal no was legally obligated to tell the manager that she had bipolar disorder during the interview whether or not it affected her job performance.
