(Topic: A concept WITHIN the "Language" lecture)
For each "share" you will select an experience or situation that relates to a particular concept that we have discussed in class. If possible, try to choose a concept that we have discussed fairly recently. Experiences or situations to draw from may include: your personal relationships, interpersonal conflicts you're experiencing, work situations, etc.
During your "share" you will need to do the following:
1. Explain the concept the share relates to and a give a brief explanation of that concept in OWN words-not the "textbook definition." (Concept examples: fidelity, self-fulfilling prophesy, reflected appraisal, social comparisons, self-monitoring, identity management, perception checking, "I" language, listening, etc.)
2. Give a summary of the experience or situation you have chosen. In your summary, show that you understand the application of that concept. (So, here you are telling a true "story" from your life, where that concept happened/ played out. )
3. Explain what you learned from the experience about communication and/or the concept that you are discussing.
