Ethanol is manufactured in industry by the hydration of ethylene: H2C CH2 (g) + H2O(l) CH3CH3OH(l) This process is spontaneous at 25°C but becomes nonspontaneous at higher temperatures. Is this an exothermic or endothermic process? Explain.
