Scenario:

You are the head of the informatics department at a 220-bed community hospital that already has computerized documentation for nursing and other ancillary staff. Evaluate the criteria that would be included in a request for information (RFI).

Discuss considerations for both upgrading the existing system and implementing a new system.

Recommend whether the facility should upgrade or implement a new system. Provide a rationale to support your position.
