Assignment: Exercise HR Dashboard-HRIS and reports
1. Please describe 10 reports that can be extracted or produced from an ERP HR, or HRIS software. What data would you conclude and what kind of insights can you deduct from the combination of data points?
An HR report can be done including different points of data, For example:
A report to help me understand why people leave my organization and prevent voluntary Turnover. This report can be called Understanding Turn Over reasons on XYZ organization and will include data like who left the company in the last 12 months (name) AND their age, AND tenure in the company (time in the company), AND gender, AND department or business unit/ location AND and time in role.
2. Describe the importance of the report and how can you drive conclusion from it. Its importance (usage and connection with strategy and HR programs). In the example above More than just turn over as a COLD number I can start understanding correlation (direct correlation, or indirect) and understand if there is a specific reason we can control to avoid or manage Turnover. Analysing my data points above for example I was able to find that female talent leave the organization more trequently than males, and higher numbers are concentrated in the sales area.. We can then identify actions and find more root causes to address as strategic HR department.
There are no wrong answers but you will be qualified on critical thinking and ideas on how to use technology and data in HR. Some case studies can be used as reference and name them in your sources please. How do you use this information for a business case where HR is asking the business to invest 1M $ in a new integrated HR system?
