Question

Angela is a single young adult female and is 14 weeks pregnant. She arrives at the hospital because she is in excruciating pain. Angela has been told that there is a complication with her pregnancy and that she has an ectopic pregnancy. Angela is informed that this condition presents life-threatening dangers to herself, if she was to carry on with her pregnancy and that her fetus has very little likely hood of survival, if any chance at all. The medical team advise that she can have a procedure completed to safely end her pregnancy. The procedure has very little risk and would allow Angela to proceed with future pregnancies, if desired to do so. Without the procedure, Angela risks her fallopian tube bursting, causing her immediate health risks and leaving only one remaining functioning tube, to be able to have any future pregnancies. Angela steadily commits to carry her baby to term. The medical team at the hospital are extremely concerned that this decision may be life threatening and are concerned for both herself and the baby. Angela also indicates that she is Religious and it is against her religion to abort any child. Angela informs that she needs to.
