Assignment:
For this assignment, you are asked to create a presentation of the impacts of technology on society. You can create your presentation using your choice of presentation media. For example, you could choose to create a PowerPoint presentation with or without audio, a video, or other media such as a Prezi presentation. If you create your presentation using slides, include the information on the slides rather than in the notes. If you choose to use video, you are required to supply a script as well as the URL of the video.
Provide two current examples of the impact of technology on society. Choose your specific examples from any one or more of the following categories:
- Education (Online learning platforms)
- Medicine (Artificial Intelligence)
For each of your examples, describe one positive and one negative impact of these changes.
Note that your examples need to be a specific new technology within the broad categories listed. For example, within the broad category of energy, you could focus on wind, sun, fossil fuels, or nuclear sources; for transportation, it could be electric cars or drones.
Your completed presentation must include:
First example
A description of the first technology chosen; include one (1) external source
One positive impact on society; include one (1) external source
One negative impact on society; include one (1) external source
Second example
A description of the second technology chosen; include one (1) external source
One positive impact on society; include one (1) external source
One negative impact on society; include one (1) external source
Be sure to use appropriate external sources for the external references required for this assignment. Include a slide with APA7 references to your external sources.
Note: For this and all other assignments in this course, an external source is defined as papers, articles, videos, and blogs from credible sources. For example, an article written by a person in a position of authority or with an appropriate educational background is a credible source. In contrast, a person with a background in the arts would likely not have the knowledge base to be a credible source on technology or sociology. As always, Wikipedia and social media posts are not considered credible.
