Assignment:

You'll be investigating the epigenetic effects of environment on humans multiple ways the environment can influence human phenotypes, specifically obesity (fat production), muscle production, the immune system and even the brain. Pick one of these examples of the environment affecting the phenotype, and argue if this phenotype is being genetically assimilated, or is the result of genetic accommodation.

You will need to include the mechanism the environment uses to change the phenotype also and be sure to define the terms genetic assimilation and canalization. Why would this mechanism evolve? What would be the factors driving assimilation? What would cause canalization? Once you have explained your trait, try to devise a medical treatment or way to influence the trait artificially. You will also need include justification on why this is necessary, rather than letting nature "run its course." In other words, what are the benefits of this treatment? What are its consequences?
