Scenario

Nurse, PCT (Patient Care Tech), PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) - All three are caregivers for Mrs C so have access to her chart for care information.

PCT: I'm really worried about Mrs C. She is really down in the dumps and says she just wants to go home and die. I know I can't tell her "don't worry...it will all be okay". But what do I say? I did tell her I'd pray for her. She looked surprised when I said that.

PTA: I've noticed too how she has almost given up. I've looked on her chart to see her diagnosis and meds but nothing was a red flag to me. I'm being as encouraging as I can but I only see her one time a day on the days I'm here. I've left a note for the other PTAs and for the OTAs.

Nurse: Thanks for the information. Make sure you have documented all this. I will call the doctor and give him an update but before I do...do either of you have any suggestions that I can pass on to the doctor?
