Assignment:

Cultural lag is "a common societal phenomenon due to the tendency of material culture to evolve and change rapidly while non-material culture tends to resist change and remain fixed for a far longer period of time...cultural lag suggests that a period of maladjustment occurs when the non-material culture is struggling to adapt to new material conditions" ("Cultural Lag," 2020, para. 6).

Discuss examples of how you have experienced & been influenced by cultural lag. Present examples of rapid change caused by a focus on the material & examples of the resistance to change caused by a non-material focus.

It will be useful, if you wish, to cite the Cultural lag source below (Into Culture - Material v. non-Material), but a reminder that the textbook must also be cited and referenced.
