Offer an example of something that should follow a normal distribution. Don't use examples discussed in the notes.

Normal distributions, though, are rarely standard; most distributions deviate from the standard normal. For your responses, come up with a reason why another's normal distribution example isn't standard using either kurtosis or skew.

For example, if someone suggested home prices as a normal distribution, you might argue that because there's a natural minimum for home prices (as a home must be a minimum size) but a maximum that can be way out there, the distribution will have a positive skew.
