Question: Imagine a unit secretary working in a healthcare organization and in a medical surgical department. The responsibilities typically include supporting patients and medical staff by answering incoming calls and responding to messages organized organizing charts inserting verified health insurance information on new patients and assisting providers nursing staff with transcription and records request. Overtime after becoming an expert in this role the nurse secretary considers her field of interest in where she wanted to expand her skills and decided to learn how to become a nurse's aide. She considered her goals and set concise measurable goals. After considering the barriers to completing this new journey and mapping out her plan she started training for it within and outside the organization to learn the new skills. After training is completed she takes a nurse's aid role in her current organization hence rising in the career. Few years in the row the person evaluates her role and realizes she understands the new role quite well and applies to an external job as a lead nurses aide role this is an example of how a person can develop a career over the years by acquiring new skills through experience and training and can
