Describe a personal life experience in which you were in cultural cruise control. Explain why this is an example of cultural cruise control.
Describe a life experience in which you were engaged in "beginning adjustments" and/or "fine-tuning." Explain why the experience is an example of "beginning adjustments" and/or "fine-tuning."
Briefly compare and contrast the two experiences in your post.
I grew up attending a private school and was taught that private school education is of a higher quality than public school education. I always assumed when I had children, they would attend private school as well because I believed for them to be successful, a private school education was the only option.
My oldest son attended public school starting in kindergarten until he graduated in 2020. My entire attitude toward public schools changed when I witnessed the education that my son was receiving. I began to see that the public school system has a more diverse student population, which was an important factor because I want my children to know other children from all walks of life. There are also more options for after-school activities and specialized programs. This is an example of fine-tuning because I shifted my thinking that public school education was inferior to private school education.
This experience has opened my eyes to the public school system and how greatly kids can benefit from public education. I now see that to be successful, you do not have to obtain a private school education. I do believe in some cases private school education is beneficial, but it is not a necessity for success.
