  • Social workers and advocates on the organization's DEI committee should publish a regular newsletter (monthly, quarterly, etc.) focused on DEI topics.
  • Any other relevant recommendation based on successful evidence-based practice for organizational social work.

  • Summarize the results of the DEI assessment of the selected organization. Describe the current context of the organization regarding organizational structure, cultural factors, population demographics, political climate, reputation for social discrimination, etc.
  • Explain how Standard 6: Social Workers' Ethical Responsibilities to the Broader Society in the NASW Code of Ethics relates to macro-level social work practice with organizations. Describe how religion or spirituality can affect ethical boundaries and explain precautions that organizations can take to reinforce these ethical boundaries.
  • Explain how clients benefit from diverse teams of professionals and advocates serving their needs. Explain how the organization can be more inclusive of diverse populations and how the committee can advocate for more diverse representation within the organization. Summarize evidence-based tips for social work organizations to use to help their social workers become more self-aware of potential stereotypes and prejudices, as well as how to combat them.
  • Explain if or how the DEI assessment process could change to better serve the needs of the selected population. Explain risks to the population if the organization's DEI efforts do not improve. Describe additional considerations that should be made during the DEI assessment process for this organization.
  • Describe the action step that you would recommend to the committee to make improvements to the organization's DEI efforts based on your assessment. Explain how this action step will influence DEI efforts in the organization.
