Odysseus should be considered a hero. Then make at least six slides, in which you introduce the topic, have at least two slides that support your stance, along with a counter-argument slide, in which you allow for an opposing view; ultimately, you should utilize that opposing view to reinforce your group's stance as to whether or not Odysseus should be considered a hero. Finally, provide a slide that concludes the topic.
How to Structure your Presentation:
Title/Introductory Slides: (2-3 slides; however you'd like to structure it) Make a title slide with the name of the presentation and the names of everyone in the group. Next, present a quote or a question that hooks the reader. Briefly connect the quote or question to what your presentation will be focusing on. Then introduce the topic. State whether or not your group believes Odysseus should be considered a hero and why. Briefly mention the examples your group will be addressing. Also mention that there are others who might believe the opposite is true, and provide a reason for that. End by explaining that you will prove the opposite to be true, and restate your stance on this issue.
First Example Slide: 1st example of a heroic trait or character flaw. Introduce the heroic trait or character flaw you are focusing on. Describe the scene in which your example occurs. Use a quote and include the line number(s). Then briefly explain your reasoning.
Second Example Slide: 2nd example of a heroic trait or character flaw. Introduce the heroic trait or character flaw you are focusing on. Describe the scene in which your example occurs. Use a quote and include the line number(s). Then briefly explain your reasoning.
Counter-argument Slide: Introduce the counter-argument (Some may say...). Acknowledge that the claim is valid and use an example from the epic that would support the claim. Afterward, counter it with an opposing view. Finally, use your claim to support a larger argument that Odysseus either is or isn't a hero (depending on what your group is arguing).
Conclusion Slide: restate your thesis (whether or not you believe Odysseus should be considered a hero and why). Briefly restate the examples your group has addressed. Also restate your group's counter-argument claim: ex. that there are others who might believe that he should not be considered a hero, but that you have shown the opposite to be true.
