Assignment:
- The 911 operator received a call from a young lady, Rose, stating that her mother, Caren, just called saying she just shot her husband, Ralf, (Rose's father) and was going to kill herself.
-The dispatcher sends multiple cars to Caren and Ralf's address.
- Officer Dees and McKay arrive to the given address and are unable to get any response from inside the residence.
- The two officers are able to kick the door open and enter the residence. They proceed to check all rooms in the home looking for the stated victim, the suicidal suspect, and any additional victims/witnesses.
- As the two officers clear the home they observe a blood stained paper on the counter in kitchen. It appears to be a suicide note from Caren.
-As they move through into the living room, they find Ralf, lying on the floor, with what appears to be a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Ralf is unresponsive but still alive.
-The two officers call for medical personnel, and continue to move through the house.
- The two officers find Caren in the bathroom tub where it appears she cut her wrists. She is also unresponsive but still alive.
-Medical personnel evacuate the two individuals and officers secure the scene.
- Thirty minutes later two detectives, Mathis and Andrews, arrive and examine the crime scene and search the home for a period of two hours.
- Dectectives Mathis and Andrews recovered the bloody suicide note on the kitchen counter and a pistol Andrews found in a dresser drawer located in the master bedroom.
-The detective charge Caren and prepare to use the suicide note and recovered pistol in court as evidence.
