Overview

You will examine the big five personality traits to explore your thoughts and arguments about the most important personality dimension to leadership and a leader's self-concept. This assignment requires you to use the APA format and guidelines and must be approximately four (4) pages (double-spaced).
Weighting: 10% towards final grade

Instructions
1. Chose one dimension of the Big Five Personality Model that you believe is most important to leadership. (This section should be approximately 2 - 2.5 double spaced pages)
a. Provide a brief summary of the dimension, explaining the main traits/characteristics with examples (life/workplace applications).
b. Provide a rationale as to why you believe that dimension is most important to leadership.
c. Guiding questions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. Why do you believe this dimension is most important in leadership?
b. Why is this dimension more important to you than the others?
c. Have you worked with, or do you know anybody with traits of the dimension?
d. How does this trait align with the results of your Big Five Personality Profile self-assessment? Is this a trait you exhibit strongly or is it outside your comfort zone? Explain.

2. Successful leaders have a positive attitude with strong self-concept (This section should be approximately 1-1.5 double spaced pages)
a. Discuss the connection of a positive self-concept to the success of a leader.
b. Reflect on ways in which you have or can develop a more positive self-concept.
