A pipe column structure made of uniform cross-section with an outside diameter of D mm and an inside diameter of d mm is used to support loads of P, Q, R, and S as shown in Figure 1. Examine the analysis of the pipe column and evaluate the principal stresses considering all types of stresses induced at points A and B. Take dimensions of k, mandn (alldiemsionsareinmm) Select suitable material for the pipe column and determine the factor of safety to carry this load.
Question 1. Evaluate the maximum principal stresses, minimum principal stresses, and maximum shear stress induced in the pipe column at point A and point B.
Question 2. The factor of safety for the principal stresses obtained based on Tresca's theory and Von Mises - Henky theory at Point A and point B.
Question 3. Prepare a report (with a minimum of 300 words) on the analysis types of stresses induced at point A, point B, and point C due to any load of the evaluator choice from the system given in Figure 1. Justify with the reasons which point should be taken for the design of the pipe column structure based on the stress analysis made.
