Homework: Psychology
Overview
Understanding key concepts from various learning theories helps those working to train and develop others be more effective. This homework helps you to take a very specific target behavior and examine it using three key theories: need theory, expectancy theory, and adult learning theory. Practical application of the theoretical concepts about which you are learning will enable you to better understand how to put research into practice in a real world situation.
Instructions
For this homework, consult with a friend, family member, coworker, or fellow student to identify a target behavior that the person does not currently have but would like to have. Some examples include, but are not limited to, things like improving physical fitness, developing assertive behavior, increasing motivation, becoming more organized, overcoming a fear of some type, eliminating a bad habit, and so on.
Examine the acquisition of the target behavior using need theory, expectancy theory, and adult learning theory. Develop a learning strategy for the person to acquire that behavior. Identify theethical and spiritual considerations that would be important to address in terms of motivating the individual toward acquiring the desired behavior.
