For research proposal assignment, will write a first draft of a research proposal on a topic of choice and use one of our four major research methods (choice of unobtrusive research, survey research, interview research, or field research, other than the method used in the assigned case study).Will then post it to a discussion board for your assigned case study group and comment on another group member's draft research proposal.

Draft should examine a topic that is different from the topic of the case study that illustrates that method for our class. For example, you could propose a study that uses survey research to examine interracial couples but not to examine sexual prejudice, unless the study used a distinct conceptualization and operationalization of sexual prejudice.

What might the proposed study look like in terms of research design, data collection, data coding, and data analysis? In particular, how might the study address the five decisions/questions for research using the chosen method? main administrative constraint is that the study should be feasible for a UO senior to complete in a single term.

Why is the method of choice more appropriate than another of our four methods for studying topics? For example, why is proposed survey research on interracial couples a better option than interview research on interracial couples?
