Topic: Dealing Fairly with Vulnerable or Disadvantaged Consumers in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry
Currently in Australia businesses related to the Tourism and Hostility (T&H) are required to deal with all types of consumers. However, there are consumers that nay not have the capacity to make a voluntary or informed decision about the implications or benefits of their purchasing or contractual decisions. According to Australian Consumer Law provisions, all businesses need to act responsibly and take care in their dealings with vulnerable or disadvantaged consumers to ensure that there is no unfair advantage is taken by the businesses.
It is important to note that businesses should continue to contract or do business with consumers who may experience a disadvantage or vulnerability. As a refusal to deal will not be in any party's interests, and many be in danger of breaching anti-discrimination legislation.
In order to provide advice to new businesses you should provide answer to the following questions:
