Assignment Details and Instructions.
You are asked to select a sports organisation which you believe has the potential to improve in the way it markets its products and services. You may select your own sports organisation or you can use one of the following as a suggestion:
• Salford Red Devils Rugby League Club
• Badminton England
• Puma
• British American Football
Assume that you have been appointed as a marketing consultant to your chosen sports organisation. They have asked for advice on how they can sustain and improve their business performance especially in the current COVID-19 environment.
In response to this request, you are asked to write a 3000-word report:
• Identifying and illustrating one or more market segments that you believe they should be targeting to achieve their objectives of survival and growth. This should include:
o Key characteristics of the segment(s)
o Rationale for why this is the most appropriate segment for the sports organisation to target
o Potential challenges and/or barriers in reaching the target segment(s)
• Discussing a proposed marketing mix for the identified target market segment(s) for the sports organisation that you identified in the presentation. This should include:
o Product/service offerings
o Pricing strategy
o Promotional strategy
o Place/customer experience strategy
Within the marketing mix, you should address how the sports organisation can both attract and then subsequently retain the new customers.
