AUDITING ASSIGNMENT -
This assignment is based on Retail Food Group {ASS Code: RFG). Students are required to examine annual reports of Retail Food Group {AS1 Code: RFG) for 2016 and 2017, and answer the following questions:
a. Critically evaluate the audit reports for 2016 and 2017 by identifying the type of report issued by the auditor, and discussing the appropriateness of the audit report issued.
b. Provide an assessment of the internal control environment of RFG, and suggest ways to overcome the identified internal control weakness.
c. Assess business risks associated with RFG from the point of view of auditors.
d. Evaluate RFG's operations from an ethical perspective by identifying deficiencies in their practice and how they can be best addressed. Also discuss why ethical issues should interest auditors and what actions can auditors take under the current regulations.
Your report should consist of the following sections:
Total words – 3000. Students will form teams of up to four (4) members. You should give careful consideration to the selection of members comprising the group. By the end of week 3, all groups must be formed and groups should provide the names of members to the lecturer-in-charge. It is very important for all members to take an active part in completing the assignment and make an equal contribution. Students must notify the Lecturer-in-Charge in a timely manner and provide substantiating documentation of any problems in relation to group work. Each student should also complete the "Peer Evaluation of Team Members" sheet and hand it in to the lecturer-in-charge.
Before submission: Typed using Microsoft Word in Ariel 12 points with double spacing. Displayed a one inch margin on all sides. Each question is numbered or is answered under an appropriate title. Pages are numbered. Cover page is attached at the front of the assignment. You may submit cover sheets separately. Appropriately cite original work, author(s) etc. Citation and referencing must conform to Harvard referencing format both in the body of the paper and its attached reference section. Assignment submitted via Turnitin.

Presentation (Organisation and flow of materials, table of contents, use of headings, format and presentation; pagination, spelling, referencing). Demonstration of outstanding understanding of ethical issues and auditors role in dealing with these issues. Outstanding application of ethical standards and ethical theories, Outstanding understanding of regulatory and professional requirements affecting the audit. Outstanding understanding of the entire audit process from planning to compiling an audit report with regard to relevant auditing standards.
Summarize the risks that Pfizer is disclosing. Comment on why these risks might be of concern to the auditor. List the various resources that the auditor can access to learn about inherent risk relating to the operations of a company.
Identify two inherent risk factors that arise from the nature of DIPL's business operations. Explain why it is a risk and how it may affect the risk?
