For this Assignment, you will examine a recent nursing informatics-related healthcare policy and share relevant details via a fact sheet designed to inform and educate colleagues in your organization.

First you want to concisely explain the policy/regulation you selected. Then explain the impact of the policy/regulation on four areas:

• System implementation - The implementation of Health IT systems
• Clinical care
• Patient/provider interactions - Directly address the interactions between patients and their providers
• Workflow

Finally, you will identify organizational policies and procedures that are or will be in place at your healthcare organization to address the policy/regulation you selected. Below are the instructions from Module 6.

FORMAT THIS ASSIGNMENT AS A FACT SHEET, NOT AN ACADEMIC PAPER. A Fact Sheet displays key information, facts and figures, in a visual manner using bullet points, tables, graphs, charts, and images. It is a single page document displayed in a visual format to emphasize key information.

1. Review the Resources on healthcare policy and regulatory/legislative topics related to health and nursing informatics.
2. Consider the role of the nurse informaticist in relation to a healthcare organization's compliance with various policies and regulations, such as the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA).
3. Research and select one health or nursing informatics policy (within the past 5 years) or regulation for further study. HIPAA and the HITECH-ACT were enacted over 10 years ago, they do not meet the criteria to choose a policy/regulation that has been enacted in the last five years. Even though it was enacted over five years ago, it is acceptable to select MACRA as many of the course resources are related to MACRA.
