Question: You work for a small public interest agency that helps individuals protect their personal information, especially in relation to concerns about identity theft resulting from data breaches. You have been asked to an "FAQ page" for the agency's website to help consumers understand their rights and responsibilities in relation to protecting their personal information in the event of a data breach, and to understand what steps to take if concerned about compromised information, as well as the pros and cons of each of those steps.
