The Destination' before considering the following:

Your Senior Manager at the Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO) in your chosen location where you are employed has directed you to presents a critical overview of the trends, opportunities and challenges currently affecting the destination.

it is important to note that your manager will be delivering this presentation to interested industry stakeholders (both public and private organisations) who are wanting to hear not only about the great aspects of the region but also be aware of the current opportunities and challenges facing your destination.

- An overview of your destination inclusive of its location, geographic size, population, capital city and other main urban areas.

- The key destination market trends inclusive of a profile of incoming tourists, their purpose of visit, and their spending patterns. NOTE: Graphs and tables should be included to support this information.

- The key tourism attractions (natural and built) as well as those events being staged in the next 12 months. Additionally, explain why these attractions and events are exclusive to your destination.

- An evaluation of your destination's tourism marketing promotion/s. Additionally, consider what your destination is doing (if any) to recover from the Covid pandemic.

- An appraisal of the sustainability programmes being pursued at your destination that directly promote tourism but at the same time protect both the natural and built environments and local community.

- A judgement of those current opportunities for tourism growth and the tourism challenges your destination faces in the next two (2) years.

- A total of four (4) recommendations on how your destination can take advantage of tourism growth opportunities as well as address the tourism challenges it is facing.

- Provide a minimum of six (6) references cited as in-text citations as well as a listing of all those information sources used in compiling this PowerPoint Presentation. Additionally, make sure you also acknowledge those sources for all graphs and tables included; and,

- The references should consist of a combination of the prescribed textbook, (online) academic texts, (online) refereed academic journals and/or legitimate websites. There is to be no use of Wikipedia nor any other dubious websites. Failure to adhere to this requirement, inclusive of failing to provide the required number of references, will incur a loss of marks.
