For this essay, you will choose an article from a newspaper or magazine and evaluate (judge) whether the author used the rhetorical appeals we learned in class (ethos, pathos, and logos) strongly or weakly to argue his/her point.

Choose an article in which the author clearly makes an argument.

Include examples from the article that clearly demonstrate each appeal. Be sure to explain not only how the example illustrates an instance of ethos, pathos, or logos, but also how that example ultimately strengthens or weakens the author's argument. Tie everything back to your thesis!
