Question: An agile retrospective is very similar to meetings schedule during a project. The project manager schedules meetings to review completed tasks in our WBS, to talk about upcoming tasks, discuss challenges encountered with and by the project team, give the Project Sponsor and Stakeholders updates on the project. However, when these meetings happen in our projects they are typically around milestones in our project, i.e., the project phases, e.g., Initiation, Planning, etc. As the PM, it does not mean a limitation on meetings to these milestones or times, just these are typically when they occur. The agile retrospective is part of the agile process and required to happen at scheduled intervals. Having these meetings more frequently helps to identify problems early, evaluate what went well and what we could do better, keep the team on track, etc. These frequent meetings allow the team to reflect more on recent events than having to remember what happened eight weeks ago as an example
