A single string of length 3.22 meter is made up of two separate shorter strings, C and D, spliced together. String C has linear density 3.12 × 10-4 kg/m and string D has linear density 1.87 × 10-4 kg/m. The tension on the combined string is 231 Newton. It takes a wave 3.15×10-3 second to travel from the beginning to the end of the combined string. Evaluate what is the length of string C?
