Reflective Essay and Presentation

Introduction
For your assesment in this module you are to identify an international political issue of your own choosing, and undertake an independent investigation of it. As well as writing a reflection on the issue you are to create a poster presentation reviewing your findings.

What should I consider? Consider the following when selecting your topic:

• Is the issue contemporary and on-going? By this I mean in the news? Remember you want it to be topical to get information and data. Historical issues are not acceptable, although contemporary issues may have a history!
• Does the issue have a clear focus? In other word's you cannot say your topic is global finance. However, you could say your topic is the financial crisis in Spain and Greece. Or better still, how is Spanish business managing to operate within a bankrupt economy? Notice the focus. This will make it easier to both research and evaluate.

Select an issue that interests you, and is relevant to you in some way, or is in a sector that maybe in future you would like to work in.

Learning Outcome 1: Critically evaluate how the global system shapes and determines the environment within which businessoperates, both overseas and domestic.
Learning Outcome 2: Identify a range of contemporary global issues and evaluate their impact upon the business environment.
Learning Outcome 3: Conduct independent research on a global issue, and demonstrate through this process evaluative andreflective research skills.
Learning Outcome 4: Demonstrate creativity in presenting information and displaying research data.

The Poster
At most conferences, these days, as well as being able to deliver an academic paper, many offer the opportunity to present a poster presentation of work. We require you as part of this assessment to present such a poster. Help and guidance concerning size, layout and format will be supplied, as well as guidance on the works grading.
