A motor car of total mass 1 tonne is accelerated uniformly from rest to a speed of 60 km h 1 up an incline of gradient 10%. The diameter of the wheels is 700 mm and the distance travelled is 100 m. The wheels and transmission have a mass of 120 kg and radius of gyration 250 mm. Frictional resistance to motion is equivalent to a force of 500 N which can be considered to be constant. Determine (a) the time taken, (b) the total work done by the engine, (c) the average power developed.
