This assignment focuses on the communication process and how communication breakdowns or effective communication can impact business relationships. You will evaluate the business communication strategies in a specific situation and apply the communication styles to a conversation you recently experienced to better understand your own style and how it is perceived by others. This assignment is meant to help you learn the elements of the transactional communication process and how that process can be applied in a business setting.

Consider a recent scenario you had in a business setting. This could be a situation in which you were the salesperson or the customer.

Create a 500 to 700 words analysis in which you complete the following:

I. Describe the scenario.

II. Evaluate the stage of the buyer-seller relationship.

III. Discuss how the space and physical contact impacted the scenario.

IV. Determine at least 3 characteristics of successful salespeople that were in play and evaluate the characteristic. Characteristics include:

1. Self-motivated
2. Dependability and trustworthiness
3. Integrity and ethical sales behavior
4. Customer and product knowledge

V. Analytical skills and the ability to use information technology

VI. Communication skills

1. Flexibility and agility
2. Creativity
3. Confidence and optimism
4. Emotional intelligence
5. Evaluate overall how the scenario built or broke down the business relationship.
