Project Proposal on Operational Practices For Lean Manufacturing

In the competitive business marketplace, sustainability has become the prior concern for the business units. There is an increasing demand for a variety of products while keeping the operating cost low and maintain the quality of the products. Many manufacturing processes have been adopted to date by organisations in order to achieve business objectives by increasing profitability. The lean manufacturing process Is the most trending manufacturing process which had first been introduced by Toyota back in 1930. Lean manufacturing entails a set of practices and principles which is being used at the time of manufacturing the physical products. Cost-cutting and waste reduction are the major benefits associated with the lean manufacturing process. Moreover, it aids in optimizing the entire process of manufacturing along with escalating the innovation. Because of the wider advantages of the lean manufacturing process, it has widely been accepted by the industries in order to sustain the competitive market by taking the profit margin into consideration.

AIM: Describe the general aim of your project (e.g. investigate ways of catching mice).

The primary aim of the study is to investigate the impact of lean manufacturing on manufacturing and process industries. Moreover, the operational processes associated with lean manufacturing will also be derived in the current study.

OBJECTIVES

The aforementioned aim of the study can be derived by developing a few objectives which are as follows.
• To evaluate the significance of the lean manufacturing process
• To identify the challenges associated with the traditional manufacturing process
• To assess the role of lean manufacturing on behalf of traditional manufacturing to eliminate the challenges
• To recognize the potentialchallenges that organisations are facing with the successful implementation of lean manufacturing (LM)
• To recommend some useful strategies for mitigating the issues with the implementation of LM
