The pay is very good, which was one of the reasons you initially took the job. The other reason you took the job was because the company claimed to have a commitment to work-life balance. You have subsequently learned that this claimed commitment is nothing other than a blatant lie. Your fellow employees demanded that management change policies to allow for people to have more regular work hours, and more of a balance that the company initially promised. The company's response was to add a fully stocked self-serve bar in the break room and a couple of pool tables so that everyone could relax while still at work. This has resulted in longer hours, because now a lot of people are border-line drunk in the afternoon. But many of your fellow employees are happy with the access to free alcohol."
