Question: A wall is formed of two identical panels that enclose air space. The thickness of the panels is lp = 0.02 m and that of the air space is la = 0.04 m. The thermal conductivity of the panel is kp = 2 W/m-C and that of the air space is ka = 0.02 W/m-C. It is calculated that during wintertime and for an outside temperature of -10°C, the inside temperature should be 23°C. However, the measured inside temperature is 25°C. Evaluate the outside convection coefficient considering combined heat conduction and convection.
