A 0.10 grams plastic cup is attached to a spring, hanging from a hook. The cup hangs 42 centimeter below the hook while at rest. When you place an 880 gram steel ball in the cup, the cup hangs 80 centimeter below the hook (assuming the ball is stationary). Now you drop the ball into the cup, releasing the ball from the similar height as the hook. Assuming the ball sticks in the cup (maybe there is a tiny bit of glue there), evaluate the maximum length the spring will reach?
