Part I: Analysis

• Explain the form of civic engagement you chose (written letter to local news station on homelessness in the community), why you selected this issue, and how this issue impacts your life.
• Assess how homelessness is seen differently by people with different civic identities, including your own.
• Evaluate the political biases found in various forms of print, digital, and social media around homelessness.
• Assess the different political positions one could take regarding homelessness. Examine the evidence in support of these positions and determine which position is best supported by the evidence.
• Evaluate the impact of the political system, the three branches of government, and/or the Constitution on homelessness.

Part II: Action and Reflection

• Reflect on why you chose this form of civic engagement.
• Evaluate the impact of your act of civic engagement (e.g., on the world, your community, your issue, or yourself).
• Propose what you might do differently if you were asked to do another act of civic engagement.
• Discuss the conclusions you have drawn after completing your act of civic engagement (e.g., what you learned about the issue, your position, and the action that you took).
