Assignment 1
Your project throughout this course will:
1. Analyze an existing health care system and evaluate how that system can be improved to better serve the community
2. Conceive a new or improved health care service, then design a facility to provide that service
3. Develop the structure, functions, and processes of the facility
4. Submit an SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation) proposal
Your proposal should be fiscally, socially, ethically, and politically responsible. The goal is to have a net positive benefit to the health care system and the community it serves.
To begin, select an existing health care system in a small U.S. city preferably in the state of New York. The city should have a population of less than 200,000.
Create a 1,050-word profile of the city you selected along with details like:
* Map of the city
* Types and locations of medical services
* Demographics (population, age, gender, etc.)
* Income and employment
* Residential details
Include a rationale of why you selected the city, including if you have any prior experience or knowledge about the existing health care system in that city.
Cite three reputable references to support your assignment (e.g., trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).
Format your assignment according to APA guidelines.
Assignment 2
Evaluate the current state of the health care system in the city you selected in Assignment 1. Read local newspaper articles, watch videos, and explore government and health care sites for information about challenges to the city's health care needs (shortages, financial difficulties, privacy issues, etc.).
Propose a new or improved health care service that you would introduce into the community. Explain why the service is needed and how it would improve the community.
Design a new health care facility that would offer a new or an improved service to the community. Present a floor plan of the facility that includes the surface area, purpose for, and description of each space.
Write a 1,050-word report about the state of health care in your selected city, your proposal for a new or improved service, and the floor plan of a facility to implement that service.
Cite three reputable references to support your assignment (e.g., trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).

The vision of health care is about improving on the delivery, premium payments, prescriptions, and provider services. It means putting things in perspective without coming up with a bunch of rules and prioritize what is important, quality health care. According to LeSueur (2017), " The primary function of governance, therefore, is to establish these parameters and create the structure and space for individuals to appropriately allocate scarce resources" Health Catalyst. If some resources are scarce those should be put in place first, this will help in achieving better outcomes for healthcare. Also, a lot of health plans require prior authorizations for tests of people who are of high risk for something like cancer. In a plan year one test without a prior authorization could automatically be approved, that would also help with better outcomes. Where I work there is one health plan that automatically approves such tests, such as a CT Scan. People will have more confidence in their health plans if you do not have to jump through hoops to get the necessary care needed.

The governance can have a affect in the vision of health care treatment , by having a strong foundation such as having a team that know how to work together in making things better for the people. According to the article "Governance in healthcare: Leadership for successful Improvement by LeSueur,D (2017) He focused on the four principles in providing the framework when it comes to governance which are: Engage the right stakeholders, Establish a shared understanding of objectives, Align incentives and rules of engagement, and Practice disciplined prioritization. i do agree with (LeSueur) principle, because you will need all of the above. Finding a stakeholder that have the same vision and goals are very important for a business to work and grow. And being able to understand each other is very important. From my own experience having a solid foundation n everything that you do will affect the outcome of what you want to achieved. What health care needs to achieve to have better outcomes are for the governance to be able to listen to what people are asking for. Being able to be mindful of how the people who are paying their taxes and working hard can feel like they are being appreciated. And also knowing on how to save money to provide better care.
